Tǔ chāng xué 土昌穴

On the inner side of the thigh, on the line 2cun inward from Tongshen acupoint.

Thigh nerve, spleen nerve, liver nerve, gallbladder nerve.
Point selection
- Tuchang 1st acupoint (土昌一穴): 2cun inward from Tongshen acupoint.
- Tuchang 2nd acupoint (土昌二穴): 2cun directly above Tuchang 1st acupoint (土昌一穴).
- Tuchang 3rd acupoint (土昌三穴): 2cun directly above Tuchang 2nd acupoint (土昌二穴).
- Tuchang 4th acupoint (土昌四穴): 2cun directly above Tuchang 3rd acupoint (土昌三穴).
- Tuchang 5th acupoint (土昌五穴): 2cun directly above Tuchang 4th acupoint (土昌四穴).
Meridian
Enters the spleen and liver meridians.
Point properties
Harmonize the stomach, soothe the liver and promote bile secretion, strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness.
Main treatments
Splenitis, splenomegaly, dizziness, headache, limb pain, hyperacidity, hypoleukocytosis, hepatitis, cholecystitis, cirrhosis.
Acupuncture method
Straight puncture 1.5cun~2cun.
Acupuncture sensation
Slight numbness and soreness.
Application
Tuchang acupoint (土昌穴) is often used to treat spleen diseases. In clinical practice, any two to three acupoints can be used to form a three-needle acupuncture method.
Description
Tuchang acupoint (土昌穴) was not published in Dong Gong's original work, but was added by Master Hu.
Experience
- Splenomegaly:
1. Sanchong Point (三重穴), Mudou Point (木斗穴), Muliu Point (木溜穴), Tuchang Point (土昌穴).
2. Tuling Point (土灵穴), Tuchang Point (土昌穴).
- Too many or too few white blood cells:
1. Shang Sanhuang Point (上三黄穴), Xia Sanhuang Point (下三皇穴), Tuchang Point (土昌穴), combined with unfixed acupuncture.
2. Shang Sanhuang Point (上三黄穴), Tuling Point (土灵穴), Tuchang Point (土昌穴), combined with back Weiqi acupuncture.
